Ensuring employees have the right information to make an informed decision is vital. But communicating about benefits only during open enrollment season may not be enough, as a new study from LegalShield found that benefits communication isn’t cutting it for many employees who are left feeling uninformed and unprepared come open enrollment season.

The study found that a majority of employees (81%) would welcome more information about their company-sponsored benefits throughout the year. This signals a clear desire for employees to gain information year-round, but about half of employees (47%) also reported feeling unprepared during open enrollment season and didn’t know enough about their benefits to make informed decisions, showing a need for more effective benefits communication.

Employees can view 100+ on-demand benefit education videos to help them make sound benefit decisions. When employees have questions about their benefits, they are directed to contact us via email, text, or phone to speak with a Personal Benefits Advisor who will guide them through their healthcare options and benefit choices.

Why hasn’t our broker told us about this?

Traditional group benefits brokers may need to learn about the changes to the tax code and new laws that expanded HRAs (in existence since 2002) to include Individual Coverage HRAs in 2020. Furthermore, most brokers need more experience, proper licensing and certifications, technology, staff, and a call center with licensed benefit advisers to enroll employees, provide year-round concierge services, and administer HRAs effectively.

Small to mid-size employers with two or more employees.

We don’t have health benefits. What will this cost us?
